Job summary

Paycom in Charlotte, NC is seeking a skilled Sewing Machine Operator to set up and operate industrial sewing machines, stitching fabric and other materials to meet production specifications.

You will check safety devices before use, follow work orders with precision, troubleshoot minor machine issues, and maintain a clean, organized workspace while collaborating with teammates to ensure quality and timeliness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience operating industrial sewing machines (preferred).
• Knowledge of various sewing machine types (e.g., straight stitch, overlock, serger) and their functions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Good manual dexterity
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team setting.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and sit for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial sewing machines to sew fabric and materials.
• Check safety devices before operating machinery.
• Inspect and repair faulty operations prior to sewing.
• Thread machines and change bobbins as needed.
• Follow work orders and ensure accurate stitching.
• Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and perform basic maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and proper storage of materials.
• Meet production goals while maintaining quality and safety.
• Record production progress and materials used.
