Job summary

Matrix Service, Inc. is seeking an experienced heavy equipment operator to support industrial construction operations in Rougemont, NC.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years experience operating heavy equipment in an industrial construction environment.
• Able to communicate with team members both verbally and by signal instruction.
• Must pass equipment test and visual observation of operating equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs loading and unloading of equipment and supplies.
• Precision positioning of equipment, lifting heavy machinery and components, beams and lumber.
• Work in a closed or open cab to use pilot operated joystick controls and related attachments to lift, move, and position loads.
• Observe load hookup and determine safety of load and inspect hoisting mechanism.
• Communicate with team members verbally and by signal instruction.
• Work around underground utilities and tight areas.
• Shoring, soil classes and dewatering.
• Remove loosened material and put in piles or transport trucks.
• Identify safety hazards and take corrective action to eliminate hazards.
• Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision.
