Job summary

CAE USA is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform inspections and tests of assemblies, subassemblies, cables, circuit cards, machined parts, optics, coatings/finishes to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.

The role requires reading blueprints, applying calibration intervals, and identifying nonconforming materials. The ideal candidate has attention to detail and strong communication skills and will support both internal manufacturing and external source inspections.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of First Article Inspection procedures.
• Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Attention to detail with importance placed on follow-up / follow-through
• Ability to work independently and prioritize the work while responding to changing priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and tests of assemblies, subassemblies, cables, circuit cards, machined parts, optics, coatings/finishes and other materials to ensure compliance to drawings, schematics, and specification requirements.
• Review first article reports, performance data, test results and material certifications for compliance.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and product specifications.
• Understand measurement precision, measurement accuracy & measurement uncertainty.
• Apply calibration intervals to inspection tools and equipment.
• Identify and report nonconforming materials.
• Understand disposition methods including rework/repair, re-inspect, scrap, and customer waiver.
• Support internal manufacturing and external source inspection of products.
• Familiar with national and international standards (ISO9001, AS9100, IPC610, IPC620) and customer requirements as authorities.
• Familiar with inspection of welds and compliance with internal weld qualifications.
• Attend training and continuous professional development events; undertake other duties as assigned.
