Job summary

Amphenol Corporation, a global leader in interconnect solutions, seeks a Hardware Engineer in Valley Green, PA to join the Cable Backplane Product Development team. You will design precision mechanical components, including float mechanisms and cartridges, interfacing with electrical and software disciplines to deliver high-speed backplanes.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred), 3+ years of Creo CAD design, and strong GD&T/FEA skills, with travel about 15% domestically

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with precision focus.

Responsibilities

• Understand evolving industry needs and product requirements.
• Collaborate with NPI and Machine Design for high-volume production.
• Support electrical performance through mechanical design with the SI team.
• Ensure high reliability and quality across the product life.
• Interface with customers during project phases and support sales.
• Work with internal and external suppliers on DFM, prototyping, tooling and qualifications.
• Provide technical assistance to product marketing and sales teams.
• Attend industry trade shows, exhibitions, and conferences as needed.
