Job summary

Timken is seeking an OD/ID grind and honing specialist for the 2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm, M-F with OT). You will read blueprints, set up and operate NC grinders, and ensure parts meet exact dimensions with precision tools.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement within IMECH, a growth-focused team. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, experience in manufacturing, and strong math, measurement, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and eligible to work in the U.S.
• Experience or training in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating grinder lathe.
• Basic math, geometry, and mechanical aptitude.
• Basic measurement and print-reading skills.
• Experience with precision measuring tools.
• Precision and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent manual dexterity and ability to control application tools precisely.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Aptitude for decision-making and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Grind parts to specified dimensions.
• Read and understand blueprint drawings for specifications.
• Clean machines, tooling and part, and maintain machines.
• Set up and operate NC Grinder.
• Use hand angle grinder.
• Plan, prioritize and organize assigned tasks.
• Continuously learn and assist in improvements.
• Communicate with team, leads, management.
• Measure to ensure it's done right.
