Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a grinding operator to shape, finish, and inspect metal components in a manufacturing environment. You will read blueprints, use precision measuring tools, and maintain equipment while following 5S standards and safety procedures.

The role requires attention to detail, basic mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Overtime may be required to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous grinding, machining, or metal fabrication experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate grinding equipment to shape, smooth, and finish metal components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings.
• Inspect parts for defects and conformance to specifications.
• Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Maintain equipment setup and perform routine maintenance.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of grinding machines.
• Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S standards).
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.
