Job summary

KMW Ltd. in Great Bend, KS is seeking a Fabricator - General Machine (GM) Operator. You will set up and operate drill presses, punch presses and grinders to machine metal parts according to blueprints and job orders.

Responsibilities include ensuring accuracy, adjusting feeds and speeds, inspecting finished work, and maintaining equipment safety and cleanliness. This is a full-time 3rd shift role based in Great Bend with standard safety expectations.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience – Less than high school or up to 1 month related experience or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos; write simple correspondence.
• Must read blueprints and use measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers in inches and millimeters.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints or job orders for specifications and tooling instructions.
• Set up and position tools and work piece; adjust feeds, speeds and depth of cut.
• Operate drill presses, punch presses, and grinders; monitor operation for misalignment.
• Inspect machined parts for conformance; adjust machine as needed.
• Clean and lubricate machines; perform routine maintenance.
• Follow safety rules, keep workspace organized and safe.
