Job summary

Acme Industries in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, seeks a Quality Gage Technician to manage the gage room, calibrate tools, and support QA with precise measurement systems. The role works with Quality, Engineering, and Production to ensure timely tool availability across shifts.

Responsibilities include gage issuance, calibration, maintenance, GD&T application, and documentation in the QMS. Experience in precision manufacturing and ISO/AS9100 environments is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a gage room, metrology lab, or quality inspection in precision manufacturing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and apply GD&T to gage selections.
• Strong attention to measurement accuracy and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized gage room and issue tools to production.
• Track tool location, assignment, and return in calibration system.
• Perform in-house calibration of calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, and dial indicators.
• Manage calibration due dates and recall overdue gages from the floor.
• Coordinate with external labs for third‑party calibration when required.
• Label and document calibrated tools with status and next due date.
• Investigate out-of-tolerance findings and document nonconformances as needed.
• Support GD&T reading and selection of proper gage for features.
