Job description

Precision Forming Technician — Amada Brake Press Operator/ProgrammerOwn the bend, perfect the cutPicture this: you step to an Amada brake press, load the right die, call up a preprogrammed job, and fine-tune the parameters so the first piece matches the print, dead on. The Amada laser hums nearby—you verify material, confirm the program, and monitor quality, ready to troubleshoot if a cut drifts or a tool flags an alarm. Parts come off the table; you shake them out, deburr to a smooth finish, and advance them down the routing. Between cycles, you sync with programmers, implement a small process tweak that trims seconds from the run, and keep the cell spotless with disciplined 5S. When production needs it, you jump on the drill press to keep orders moving.ResponsibilitiesVerify materials, programs, and die selection for laser and press brake per work orders.Perform press brake and laser setups; retrieve/edit preprogrammed instructions to meet dimensional specs from engineered drawings.Troubleshoot poor cutting conditions, worn/damaged tooling, and equipment alarms.Drive continuous improvement to raise quality and reduce cycle times.Deburr parts using both manual and automatic equipment to meet standards.Shake out completed laser parts and route them to the next step.Handle raw materials via forklift and overhead crane; store them methodically.Collaborate daily with programmers and uphold a safe, clean, 5S-compliant area.Operate a drill press as needed.CapabilitiesTeam-first communicator with strong mechanical aptitude and blueprint-reading skills.Proficiency with fractions/decimals and precision metrology tools (caliper, tape measure, micrometer, etc.).Comfortable tackling undefined problems and shifting priorities.Exceptional attention to detail.Qualifications1+ years operating similar equipment preferred.Ability to safely lift/lower/push/pull up to 40 lbs.Valid Driver’s License required.Internal candidate criteria: two (2) or fewer “Inconsistent” ratings on the most recent performance review are eligible to proceed; three (3) or more “Inconsistent” ratings are not.Any “Unsatisfactory” rating on the most recent review is disqualifying. No more than one (1) documented written warning within the past 12 months.Final warning for attendance is disqualifying.
