Job summary

Rand Whitney Mid Atlantic in Red Lion, PA is seeking a reliable forklift operator for the second shift to load and unload materials, move them to storage areas, and prepare shipments. This full-time role requires standing, lifting, and operating a forklift safely in a manufacturing setting.

Candidates should have prior forklift experience (three years preferred), read and follow factory instructions, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Three years of forklift experience required.
• Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
• Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities that can translate into efficient operation.
• Working knowledge of layouts, production specifications and product quality specifications.
• Excellent team building and interpersonal skills.
• High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment.
• Must have attention to detail and focused concentration.
• Must be able to adhere to process protocol and must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into trucks or storage facilities.
• Operate and care for forklift in a safe manner; must be qualified to operate forklift.
• Complete and document forklift inspections before start of shift and when using a new forklift; turn in maintenance work orders as needed.
• Locate stock before the start of the run.
• Adhere to daily production schedule and help optimize it to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
• Deliver stock to machines safely and on time; complete necessary paperwork accurately.
• Complete reports (Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data) accurately.
• Maximize equipment utilization by operating at available capacity and speed.
• Handle special projects and assignments as business dictates.
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy as required by regulations and company policies.
