Precision Farming Specialist (Agriculture)
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide technical and sales support to Birkeys employees and customers regarding current and future technologies such as: combine yield monitors & global positioning systems, light bar & auto guidance systems, sprayer application systems, and planter GPS application systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide sales support to the Ag locations on product knowledge related to software & hardware on combines, planters, tractors, & sprayers electronic monitoring and application systems.
- Assist in developing and implementing marketing programs that promote key services.
- Educate sales staff regarding agronomic advantages.
- Communicate manufacturer updates to sales staff.
- Conduct product meetings with customers and sales personnel.
- Complete product demonstrations and equipment deliveries as needed.
- Call on customers to sell company products and services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key crop protection retailers & wholesalers to better serve their product needs.
- Ensure a safe environment for all customers and employees, carrying out supervisory responsibilities accordingly.
- Stay current on product knowledge, features, and benefits, maintaining updated manuals and materials.
- Provide activity reports as directed.
- Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to company safety policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
Associate's degree or equivalent preferred. Ability to prioritize work, work independently, and understand oral and written instructions. Must motivate team members to focus on customer satisfaction. 2-4 years of related experience with a steady work record is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Lift or move up to 10 lbs normally, occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to tolerate movement involving bending, stooping, reaching above/below shoulder height.
- Stand for extended periods.
- Operate equipment or power tools as necessary.
- Meet health assessment requirements.
Work Environment
- Occasional exposure to dust and noise; noise level usually moderate.
- Indoor heating and air conditioning conditions.
- Extensive keystroke tasks.
