Job description

About The Role

Imagine starting your day with a blueprint in hand, laying out components with precision, and transforming raw materials into high‑quality weldments that meet Pro‑Cise, Inc. standards and exact customer specifications. As a Precision Fabrication Welder‑Fitter, you’ll blend fit‑up skill with expert MIG/GMAW technique, verify dimensions with metrology tools, and keep production moving safely and efficiently under ISO procedures.

You’ll interpret drawings with GD&T, plan your sequence, fit and tack sub‑assemblies, and run production‑grade welds on ferrous and non‑ferrous materials. You’ll help design or build fixtures when needed, move work with forklifts, jib cranes, and hoists, and document labor and WIP accurately. Throughout the day, you’ll wear the right PPE, follow equipment guidelines, and keep an eye on quality—using weld gauges and inspection tools to validate results. You may mentor a newer welder, and you’ll be ready to pass any weld tests required, including those tied to customer contracts.

Core Responsibilities
  • Fit and weld parts and sub‑assemblies independently, following established processes and techniques.
  • Deliver weldments that meet dimensional, quality, and throughput targets from drawings, specs, and work instructions.
  • Read blueprints (including GD&T) and verify work using tape measures, squares, protractors, and weld gauges.
  • Perform MIG/GMAW welding on both ferrous and non‑ferrous metals as required by project scope.
  • Assist with fixture/jig design and fabrication to improve repeatability and flow.
  • Complete time/labor reporting, work order documentation, and proper WIP identification.
  • Comply with ISO procedures, PPE rules, and safe equipment operation practices.
  • Operate forklifts, jib cranes, hoists, and related lifting devices safely and efficiently.
  • Support onboarding and skill‑building for new welders or teammates.
  • Successfully pass required welding certifications, including project‑specific tests.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet department and company objectives.
