This role focuses on reviewing prints and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates for custom metal fabrication projects, collaborating with project teams, vendors, and sales to ensure competitive pricing while optimizing manufacturability and shop efficiency.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of fabrication estimating experience (steel, stainless, structural, or custom metalwork).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and understand fabrication processes.
Familiarity with job travelers, shop scheduling, and routing procedures.
Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
Highly organized, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple quotes.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Review blueprints, drawings, and specs to develop detailed cost estimates.
Estimate material, labor, subcontracting, and equipment costs for metal fabrication.
Collaborate with project teams to evaluate manufacturability and lead times.
Coordinate with vendors to confirm pricing and availability.
Prepare timely quotes and support inside sales.
Track scope changes and update estimates accordingly.
Identify opportunities to improve pricing strategies and shop efficiency.
