Essex Solutions in Fort Wayne, Indiana is seeking an Enamel Wire Operator to run machines that apply enamel insulation to wires according to manufacturer specifications and customer orders.

The role involves setting up ovens and machines, loading reels, wiring ends, reading micrometers, recording data, inspecting output, maintaining a clean work area, and strictly following plant rules and safety procedures. You will work with basic hand tools and report quality or safety issues to supervisors.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
• Ability to follow plant work rules, work instructions, safety rules and established processes, procedures & practices.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area.
• Ability to use tools including wire cutters, pliers, wrenches, hammer, micrometers, and computer.

Responsibilities

• Rolls reel into jack, remove reels from payoff, reload reel or basket.
• Welds wire ends together to feed machine. Applies insulation.
• Monitors machine process, stop reel when full and change out, monitoring processes and controls to assure quality
• Maintains accurate inspection logs and reel labels
• Sets up ovens and runs wire through machines
• Uses and reads micrometers to measure wire, completes paperwork, records and enters data
• Place completed reel in designated location and communicates to supervisors and associates
