Job summary

Kelly Engineering is seeking a hands-on Engineering Production Technician in Portland, OR to support production of precision electronic components. The role requires extended microscope-based soldering, strict adherence to work instructions, and a focus on quality in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include fine-pitch soldering, assembly, inspection, and documentation, along with collaboration with Engineering to troubleshoot and improve processes. On-site, full-time, contract-to-hire.

Qualifications

• Recent hands-on experience with microscope-based soldering of small electronic components or wires.
• Ability to perform detailed soldering work under a microscope for extended periods during a shift.
• Experience following SOPs, work instructions, travelers, blueprints, or manufacturing process instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently meet quality requirements.
• Experience in electronics, medical device, semiconductor, precision assembly, or another regulated manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform fine-pitch soldering and rework on very small wires and electronic components using a microscope.
• Build, assemble, inspect, and test precision components according to work instructions and quality requirements.
• Follow SOPs, manufacturing process instructions, travelers, blueprints, and assembly documentation.
• Complete accurate production and quality documentation.
• Conduct visual inspection of parts and assemblies using microscopes and other inspection tools.
• Support Engineering and Production with troubleshooting, rework, and process-improvement activities.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safety-focused work area.
