Job summary

Align Precision in North Plains, OR is seeking an assembler to perform basic and intricate electronic/electro-mechanical assembly on prototype and production hardware, following workmanship standards and military or client specs. You will assist in wiring engineering models and in developing assembly methods and wire lists.

The role uses hand or power tools to fit components, read wiring lists and blueprints, and may train junior staff.

Qualifications

• Must have basic understanding of engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Excellent attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to read, interpret and follow specifications and change notices.
• Knowledge of safe handling and operation of hand/power tools.

Responsibilities

• Determine detail/hardware locations per blueprints and mylars.
• Set up and operate Drill Press, Pneumatic drills, “C” squeezes, Hand Squeezes, Rivet Pullers.
• Set up countersinks per fastener requirements and shop router.
• Monitor and work with very tight tolerances.
• Drill holes in structure and subassemblies and attach brackets, hinges, or clips per blueprint and customer specs.
• Install units, parts, equipment, and components in structural assembly using hand and power tools.
• Bolt, screw, or rivet accessories to fasten, support, or hang components.
• Locate and mark reference points and holes for installation using jigs, templates, measuring instruments.
• Inspect and test installed units for fit, performance, and compliance using measuring instruments and test equipment.
• Align subassemblies in jigs or fixtures following blueprint lines and index points.
• Complete required training and any additional training required by supervisor.
• Complete quality documentation.
• Perform preventative maintenance on assembly presses and tooling.
• Verify part and hardware count to shop router.
• Attend to attendance requirements; overtime may be required.
• Other duties as assigned.
