Job summary

Obsidian Solutions Group LLC is seeking an Electrical Assembly Technician to perform high-reliability soldering and electrical integration for a UAS production program. The role focuses on heavy-gauge power wiring, XT-series connectors, ESCs, and capacitors, with a current J-STD-001 certification required.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen required due to defense and export-controlled program requirements.
• Current J-STD-001 certification.
• Experience soldering in a production or high-reliability environment.
• Experience soldering wires to connectors, terminals, or PCB pads.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, polarity markings, and work instructions.
• Preferred: IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification or related cable/wire-harness experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform soldering per J-STD-001 and approved work instructions.
• Cut, strip, prepare, and tin power and motor wiring.
• Solder AWG 10 wiring to XT90 connectors and ESCs.
• Solder motor phase wires to ESC pads.
• Prepare and solder capacitors and reinforcement conductors.
• Verify polarity before/after soldering.
• Maintain ESD-controlled workstation and clean production area.
• Complete production travelers and ensure traceability.
• Document nonconforming joints or components and perform approved rework.
