Job summary

Zumbrota Drivetrain is seeking a skilled technician to re-build transmissions, transfer cases and differentials. The role requires following build sheets and maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

Responsibilities include tearing down, prepping units for re-manufacturing, inspecting cores, using power tools, and ensuring parts documentation (WIP) is accurate. High attention to quality and independent work is valued.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Advanced automotive and mechanical skills.
• Use of power tools.
• Able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Get direction from cell lead on priority of work.
• Work with tear down employees to prep units for re-manufacturing.
• Wash core and component parts as part of pre-build.
• Inspect cores and components to determine if buildable and inform foreman if not.
• Evaluate cores to determine critical components or mismatches to quality standards.
• Remove internal bearings and gears and identify worn parts for disposal.
• Add replaced components to WIP document and ensure all parts are listed on WIP.
• Deliver completed WIP doc to parts pullers for processing.
• Start next project while waiting for parts.
• Follow build sheets or standard work instructions to complete rebuilds.
• Ensure finished unit works properly and looks like new.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace and inform maintenance of breakdowns.
• Other tasks as directed.
