Job summary

AAMCO Transmissions and Total Car Care in Portland, OR is seeking an Automotive Transmission Rebuilder to diagnose, rebuild and repair transmissions to exact specifications.

You will communicate findings to customers and teammates, remove and reinstall transmissions, and support ongoing training to stay current with automotive technology. A strong hands-on background and own tools are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience as Automotive Transmission Rebuilder.
• Hold a valid driver’s license.
• Own professional grade tools.
• Experience with mechanical diagnosis and transmission rebuilding.
• Ability to communicate solutions to others.
• ASE certifications a plus.
• Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, rebuild and repair automotive transmission systems to specifications- knowledge of electrical and computer systems is a plus.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include other teammates and customers as required.
• Remove and Reinstall Transmission systems.
• Assist other technicians in performing technical activities.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques informal training session to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology.
• Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized service department.
