Qualifications

• Knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T fundamentals.
• Experience interpreting drawings and tolerances to ensure part conformity.
• Proficiency with manual and CNC machining processes to fabricate dies and tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot tooling and process issues with a methodical approach.

Responsibilities

• Studies blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies.
• Sets up and operates conventional or CNC machine tools to cut, bore, grind, or shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes.
• Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts using calipers, gauges, micrometers, and dial indicators.
• Fits and assembles parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools using machine tools and hand tools.
• Conducts test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications and makes adjustments as needed.
• Inspects finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects; ensures proper surface finish.
• Lifts, positions, and secures machined parts on surface plates or worktables; adheres to all company standards.
