Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking an experienced grinder set-up/operator for our Downers Grove shop. You will set up and run OD/ID cylindrical grinders, ensuring tight tolerances and specified finishes on high-spec parts.

Candidates should have 3+ years in OD/ID grinding, strong metrology skills, and a solid safety mindset. The role involves changing over machines efficiently and maintaining quality throughout production.

Qualifications

• 3+ years setting up and running OD/ID cylindrical grinding machines.
• Experience with GD&T callouts and blueprint interpretation.
• Ability to verify critical dimensions with micrometers and calipers.
• Strong safety mindset and clean, organized work habits.
• High school diploma or equivalent; trade schooling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate OD and ID cylindrical grinding machines to exact specifications.
• Plan and execute efficient changeovers while maintaining quality and throughput.
• Verify critical dimensions with micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
• Machine tool steel and heat-treated alloys to blueprints and GD&T requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot downtime causes.
• Keep work area clean and compliant with safety practices.
