Job summary

MSC Industrial Supply Co. seeks a Manual Cutter/Grinder in Chicopee, MA to regrind, recondition and manufacture cutting tools per SOPs and tolerances. The role requires blueprint reading, tool inspection, and precise grinding in a fast shop environment.

You will operate machinery, document results, and train others while upholding safety and quality standards. Compensation starts at $21.57/hour with potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Grad with basic math skills.
• Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Ability to inspect tools per print and document results professionally.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions.
• Ability to use test and measuring equipment and perform basic mathematical calculations as well as setup and operate various machine tools.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, sketches, drawings and manuals to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Start and observe machine operation, detect malfunctions and adjust controls.
• Verify conformance of finished work with specifications using precision instruments.
• Grind tools per work instructions within print tolerances.
• Inspect tools per print and document results on inspection reports.
• Set up machines and ensure safety guarding is in place.
• Return tooling after completion and train others as required.
• Foster MSC culture and participate in special projects.
