Job summary

Mueller Industries in Kentucky seeks a Combine Operator to run a series of machines that measure, cut, and label copper tubing from stock rolls. You will inspect pieces for label placement, straightness, and diameter, and operate safety controls throughout shifts.

Responsibilities include feeding stock through saws, clearing jams, documenting hourly production, and swapping attachments with basic hand tools. Strong attention to quality and safety is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience operating automatic combine series machines.
• Ability to inspect completed pieces for label placement, straightness, and diameter.
• Ability to use hand or electric saw to cut stock and clear jams.
• Document hourly production and maintain safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate push button, turn key, touch screen controls and adjust knobs for the automatic #8 Combine machines.
• Check pieces for quality: label placement, straightness, diameter.
• Use saw to cut off end of stock, feed through rollers and into exit rollers.
• Clear jams in saw/shear area, may require electric saw and hammer, follow safety limits.
• Document hourly production with paper and pencil.
• Change out saw attachments using crane and wrenches as needed (1-3 times per week).
• Place roll of barcodes in machine.
• Replace wipers.
