Job summary

Orion is seeking a skilled concrete finisher in Houston to smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete such as floors, sidewalks, and curbs. You will align forms, patch voids, and use saws for expansion joints, while following safety protocols and company values.

The role requires at least three years of relevant experience, ability to work in varying conditions, and physical endurance to perform demanding tasks with concrete equipment.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience finishing concrete structures, pier foundations, steel forming systems, and pouring concrete.
• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Be able to lift, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach to perform everyday job tasks.

Responsibilities

• Signal concrete truck driver to position vehicle for pouring.
• Move discharge chute to direct concrete into forms.
• Spread concrete into inaccessible sections with a rake or shovel.
• Level concrete to depth and workability with screen and floats.
• Finish concrete surfaces and rub with an abrasive stone.
• Patch holes and defects with fresh concrete or epoxy.
• Mold expansion joints and edges.
• Sprinkle color materials to achieve prescribed finish.
• Direct subgrade work, mixing, and form setting.
• Maintain equipment and tools to ensure longevity.
