Job summary

Airbus Helicopters Canada Ltd seeks a Composite Sanding Technician to perform end-to-end surface preparation, sanding, and masking for composite components. You will follow AH/AHCA specifications, ensure defect-free finishes, and support safety and 5S practices within a paint environment.

The role requires experience with sanding/masking, attention to detail, and the ability to work with hand tools in a production setting. Shift work is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience sanding and masking.
• Experience with sanding and prepping in an automotive setting is an asset.
• Strong hand skills.

Responsibilities

• Surface preparation and sanding of composite panels using air-powered orbital sanders and sanding blocks per AH/AHCA specs.
• Mix and apply filler to eliminate pinholes and surface imperfections; repeat steps for a flawless finish.
• Clean, spray, and wipe panels to remove dust and contaminants before masking/painting.
• Maintain accurate usage data and report low supplies to the Lead Hand.
