Job summary

Deringer-Ney Inc. in Marshall, NC, seeks a PCF Set-Up Operator to set up and operate precision cold forming machines in a job shop environment.

You will maintain ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 compliance, perform self-inspections, and strive to improve processes. Candidates should read engineering drawings, use micrometers/calipers, and train coworkers as needed.

Qualifications

• The candidate must set-up and run production, making machine adjustments, and tool settings.
• Ability to use a micrometer, caliper and other measuring devices, magnification equipment and recognize key dimensions.
• Able to measure high quality parts to print and follow detailed work instructions per ISO quality systems.
• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings.
• Experience with multi-die (progressive) cold heading machines is desirable.
• Trains co-workers as required.

The PCF Setup Operator has the ability to set-up and operate precision cold forming machines.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Ability to work independently in a job shop environment to set-up and operate a number of machines simultaneously.
• Maintain compliance to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certifications.
• Self-Inspection for Quality of all parts manufactured.
• Seeks out creative ways to continuously improve the products and processes.
• Be able to problem solve various situations using critical thinking methodology in an investigative manner to pinpoint, identify and correct potential issues that lead to non-conformances and production losses.

Required Skills/Abilities

• The aptitude to set-up and run production, making machine adjustments, and tool settings.
• Ability to use a micrometer, caliper and other measuring devices, magnification equipment and recognize key dimensions.
• Ability to measure high quality parts to print and follow detailed work instructions per our ISO quality systems required.
• Must be proficient in interpreting engineering drawings.
• Experience with multi-die (progressive) cold heading machines is highly desirable.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
• 2-3 years of experience setting up and operating cold heading machines.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
• Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
