Industrial Plating Company in Chattanooga, TN, is seeking a Mechanical Surface Restoration Technician to prepare parts, apply coatings, and finish to spec. The role covers machining, grinding, and surface finishing across diverse components, with hands-on training in metrology and coating technologies.

You will interpret drawings, verify tolerances, mask features, and maintain a clean, safe work area while documenting work in our systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical certificate/degree is a plus.
• Lean/5S experience preferred.
• Experience in quality and production processes is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings and work instructions to plan and execute jobs.
• Verify thickness, dimensional features, TIR, and surface roughness using precision tools.
• Mask components to protect features during coating.
• Operate machines: manual lathes, grinders, blasting, coating, polishing.
• Maintain a tidy, safe work area and complete safety training.
