Job summary

TekPro partners with a leading aerospace manufacturer to hire a CNC Lathe Machinist for the 2nd shift (3:00–1:30 AM) in Downers Grove, IL. You’ll set up and operate 2–4 axis CNC lathes, verify first-article runs, and document results with micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

In this role you will interpret blueprints and GD&T, perform tool changes, apply offsets, and make minor program edits while maintaining tight tolerances and quality.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of CNC lathe setup and operation experience.
• Strong blueprint reading skills and GD&T knowledge.
• Ability to hold tight tolerances in production.
• Familiarity with Fanuc or similar CNC controls.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce tight-tolerance aerospace components.

A new aerospace turning job is queued up. You set up a 2–4 axis CNC lathe (Haas, Okuma, Doosan, or DMG Mori Seiki), call up the program on Fanuc or comparable controls, dial in tools, and make offsets for a first-article run. With blueprints and GD&T in hand, you verify every critical dimension using micrometers, calipers, and gauges. You document results, adjust minor program details as needed, and keep production moving with tight-tolerance accuracy.
