Job summary

Professional Placement Services is seeking a CNC Milling Setup Technician in Mentor, OH to ensure milling machines are set up correctly for precise production. You’ll examine setup sheets, fixtures, and programs while collaborating with operators to maintain flow and quality.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in CNC milling setup, GD&T proficiency, and experience with Fanuc or Haas controls. CAM tools Mastercam or Fusion 360 are a plus for multi-axis work.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CNC milling setup or advanced machining experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
• Proficiency with tooling, feeds, and speeds.
• Experience with Fanuc or Haas controls or similar systems.
• Measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC milling machines for production runs per setup sheets and blueprints.
• Install and align vises, fixtures, and workholding devices.
• Load and verify CNC programs and make minor adjustments.
• Install and set tooling, including tool length offsets and wear offsets.
• Establish work coordinates and verify proper machine setup.
• Perform first-piece inspections using precision measuring tools.
• Troubleshoot machining issues such as chatter, tool wear, or dimensional inaccuracies.
• Work closely with operators and supervisors to maintain production flow.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
