Job summary

Sb-Tool is seeking a skilled machinist to operate manual and CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and related equipment at our Shelby Township facility. You’ll inspect parts with calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators and read 2D drawings with GD&T callouts.

The role is in-person, full-time, with compensation based on experience. You will interpret blueprints and work directly from drawings to ensure part quality and conformance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with manual mills, lathes, and grinders.
• Proficiency in GD&T and blueprint reading.
• Comfort using calipers and micrometers for in-process checks.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and run manual and CNC machine tools: mills, lathes, grinders, saws, boring mills, and drill presses.
• Inspect parts throughout production using precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators)
• Interpret and work directly from blueprints and 2D drawings with GD&T

What a day looks likeYou arrive on the floor, review 2D drawings, and prep tooling. By mid-morning, you’re setting up a manual mill, then transitioning to a CNC operation.
