Job summary

Salvagnini America seeks an experienced CNC machinist to set up, operate and maintain CNC equipment for precision punch tooling with tight tolerances. Expect to work in a low-volume, precision environment, collaborating with technicians to schedule workloads and ensure on-time customer orders.

Responsibilities include programming adjustments, tool setup, inspection with micrometers and calipers, and basic preventative maintenance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience setting up, programming, and operating CNC equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and work orders.
• Experience with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC equipment to manufacture precision tooling.
• Read and interpret drawings and internal work orders.
• Inspect tooling with precision measuring tools to verify dimensions.
• Create/modify CNC programs for various tooling types.
• Troubleshoot machining processes, equipment, and programs.
• Monitor tooling quality and manage orders through production to shipment.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on production equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
