Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• 1–3 months related experience or training
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak before groups of customers or employees
• Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide
• Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent
• Reasoning ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables
• Basic computer skills including use of email

Responsibilities

• Load and operate CNC machines to fabricate parts
• Study blueprints and specifications to determine dimensions
• Set up Lathe/Mill with fixtures, chucks, tooling, and programs
• Load and verify programs and perform dry-runs
• Measure dimensions and tolerance references with calipers or micrometers
• Monitor machine operation and adjust controls as needed
• Verify finished parts meet specifications
• Collaborate with setup personnel and programmers to resolve issues
• Perform routine machine maintenance (coolant, lubrication)
• Monitor chip conveyors and clear obstructions
• Package, label, and transport finished parts as required
• Stand during shifts
