Job summary

Kelly Services is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for our Tooling Department in Farmington, CT. You will set up and operate CNC machines, develop tooling methods, and troubleshoot processes to meet quality and production goals.

The role emphasizes interpreting drawings, creating CNC programs with speeds and feeds, and producing punches, strippers, and dies with precision while maintaining TPM and 5S standards. A strong focus on safety and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of CNC machining experience.
• Strong mechanical machining experience including turning, milling, grinding, EDM.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, routings, and work instructions.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC machinery.
• Ability to create and/or edit CNC programs, including speeds and feeds.
• Proficiency with precision measurement equipment and inspection techniques.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Interpret routings, work instructions, engineering drawings, and blueprints to complete production orders.
• Create and edit CNC programs, including determining appropriate speeds and feeds for tooling production.
• Set up and operate CNC machines, machine tools, work-holding equipment, and related tooling according to production schedules.
• Perform initial production runs and support the development of machining processes, fixtures, and methods.
• Produce precision tooling components, including punches, strippers, and dies.
• Troubleshoot and correct process-related issues as they arise.
• Use and interpret precision measurement tools to verify dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
• Support and initiate improvements to production processes within Tooling Department.
• Perform 5S workplace organization and TPM tasks.
• Operate safely and complete required safety training.
• Work with team members to meet production and quality objectives.
