Job summary

Excelitas Technologies Corp. in Boulder, CO, is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to fabricate ultra-precision optical components and subsystems for demanding applications.

You will set up and operate mills and lathes, write and modify G-code, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances using micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators. This role offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 3+ years CNC machining experience preferred.
• Setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC milling/turning/multi-axis machines.
• Experience with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Proficient in CNC programming and operation (G-code, M-code).

Responsibilities

• Works on parts that are medium to difficult to machine.
• Select tools, machines, and materials for prepared work.
• Modify existing programs or write new ones and test for accuracy.
• Proficient in SurfCam programming software and modeling.
• Set up, adjust, and operate basic machine tools for precision machining.
• Measure and inspect completed parts using micrometers/calipers.
