Job summary

NOV is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist in Cedar Park, TX to safely set up, program, and operate Okuma and Mazak lathes and mills for high‑mix, low‑volume oilfield components.

You will read engineering drawings, interpret G/M codes, and troubleshoot on the shop floor, while maintaining quality, tool life, and process documentation. The role requires teamwork, safety focus, and willingness to overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; CNC certification preferred.
• 3+ years operating Okuma and/or Mazak CNC lathes/mills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and programs (G/M codes).

Responsibilities

• Independently set up, prove out, and operate Okuma and Mazak CNC lathes and mills.
• Load, inspect, and secure workpieces and tooling per specs.
• Interpret engineering drawings, CNC programs, and work orders.
• Monitor machine performance, adjust parameters, and troubleshoot in real time.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and document logs.
• Maintain clean, safe work area per OSHA guidelines.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on non-conformances.
• Record production data, tool life, and scrap rates for continuous improvement.
• Hold close tolerances, including ±0.0005" features.
• Work to a dispatch report and ensure proper job sequencing.
