Job summary

NOV Tulsa seeks an experienced Machinist to set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC lathes and milling machines. You’ll read drawings, inspect parts, and maintain close tolerances in a heavy manufacturing environment.

You will be responsible for setup, inspection, and continuous improvement under supervision, while following health and safety rules and contributing to cost-reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years’ experience operating CNC machines in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Advanced reading of drawings and tolerancing.
• Basic math skills for fabrication calculations.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC lathes and milling machines.
• Inspect parts for conformance to requirements and tight tolerances.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to determine dimensions and sequencing.
• Measures and marks dimensions and reference points for machining.
• Detects malfunctions and adjusts machines to ensure quality.
• Assists in solving plant operating problems and cost-reduction projects.
• Operates a forklift and assists in material movement.
• Maintains clean work area and performs preventive maintenance.
