Job summary

Aerotek in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a CNC Machinist for a Contract to Hire role. You will machine precision parts for gears and gearboxes, interpret blueprints, and perform setups and light programming. The work involves multiple brands and shifts in a clean, safety-focused environment.

You will read drawings, verify dimensions with precision tools, and collaborate with teammates to meet quality and production goals. This position offers growth within a unionized manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Hands-on CNC machining experience including drilling and milling.
• Experience setting up mills and lathes and handling offsets.
• Ability to read blueprints and verify tolerances with precision tools.
• Familiarity with Mazak, Haas, OKK and Mori Seiki equipment and grinders.
• Proven troubleshooting skills and basic editing/light CNC programming.

Responsibilities

• Perform CNC machining to manufacture parts for gears and gearboxes.
• Set up CNC mills and lathes, load tools, establish offsets, and prepare for runs.
• Complete offsets and changeovers to support production schedules.
• Read blueprints daily to ensure dimensions and tolerances.
• Use calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify part dimensions.
• Troubleshoot issues and adjust to improve quality and performance.
• Operate drill presses safely and maintain a clean work area.
• Collaborate with team to meet production goals and improve processes.
