Job summary

Nidec is seeking a Machinist for the 2nd shift at our Mankato, MN site. Starting pay ranges from $24.58 to $28.57 per hour, with a 10% shift differential and potential $2.00 additional differential after meeting collective bargaining criteria.

Bi-weekly payroll and on-site work location are specified. The role requires interpreting drawings, setting up CNC machinery, and performing precision machining on metal parts.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a two-year vocational or accredited certificate/degree.
• After certification and 4,000 in-house machining hours, progression to Machinist A is expected.
• Knowledge of machining practices, basic mechanical principles and shop math is required.

Responsibilities

• Machining and fitting metal parts, tools, and machines with minimal supervision.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches and specs to lay out and perform work.
• Set up and operate machines and perform progressive machining with close tolerances.
• Determine operation sequences and tooling geometry; select tooling and speeds.
• Monitor coolant quality and perform TPM tasks as needed.
• Perform other duties within the same salary grade as directed by supervisor.
