Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist in Addison, IL to produce precision components in a low-volume, high-mix environment. This hands-on role requires reading detailed prints, adjusting at the machine, and owning part quality from first piece through final inspection.

You'll set up CNC horizontal lathes, machine steel parts, and ensure tight tolerances while maintaining safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

3+ years of CNC lathe or CNC turning experience preferred.
Strong setup and operation experience on CNC lathes.
Ability to read blueprints and understand machining tolerances.
Working knowledge of GD&T.
Experience making tooling, offset, and basic program adjustments.
Strong precision-measurement and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and take pride in quality craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC horizontal lathes.
Machine precision steel and industrial-metal components.
Read blueprints, GD&T, tolerances, and work instructions.
Select tooling, set work and tool offsets, and adjust cutting parameters.
Make basic program edits and machine adjustments as needed.
Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, and other precision tools.
Troubleshoot dimensional, tooling, and machining issues.
Maintain high standards for quality, safety, and housekeeping.
