Job summary

MICA Steelworks is seeking a detail-oriented CNC Laser Cutting Machine Operator to set up, operate, and maintain laser cutting machines. You will produce high-quality parts from metal and other materials per engineering drawings while adhering to safety and quality standards.

The role requires bench skills in laser setup, G-code, CAD/CAM, and nesting, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and teamwork in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical diploma or certification in CNC machining preferred.
• Additional training in blueprint reading, CAD/CAM, quality inspection or automation programming is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC laser cutting machines with the correct lenses, nozzles, and materials.
• Position sheet metal accurately and adjust power/speed/focus for precision.
• Load CNC programs and retrieve instructions from network databases.
• Create/modify cutting programs based on CAD files to optimize material use and speed.
• Monitor operations and perform in-process inspections.
