Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. is seeking a CMM Inspector/Operator to measure castings and fixtures using automated CMMs and verified printouts against PCC and customer specs.

You will load programs, respond to on-screen instructions, review inspection data, and mark parts for rework when necessary, while ensuring safety and accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Training provided; strong attention to geometric details and blueprints required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, follow and interpret SOPs, Quality Control Manuals, Technique Cards, and technical specifications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), with geometry and trigonometry preferred.
• Ability to read, follow and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to perform geometric dimensioning and tolerancing preferred.
• Computer data entry and operation experience preferred.
• Computer programming experience preferred. (TBO only)
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Operate CMMs to measure dimensions on castings and fixtures and verify measurement printouts.
• Load appropriate programs into the machine per tech cards or SOPs; initiate and monitor programs.
• Respond to computer instructions and error messages during CMM operations.
• Review CMM inspection printouts for consistency with specifications.
• Determine necessary rework and mark parts for rework; generate and maintain reports.
• Test and troubleshoot inspection programs (TBO) and generate specialized outputs (SSBO).
• Maintain safety and logs; meet production and quality standards.
