Job summary

Fitfastener is seeking a Centerless Grinder operator to set up and operate precision grinding equipment for grinding lot parts in line with established shop practices.

The role requires the ability to read mechanical drawings, measure dimensions with calipers and micrometers, and troubleshoot loading systems for auto grinders. You will perform quality checks, document run times, and ensure adherence to tolerances using SPC systems and shop data tools.

Qualifications

• Able to read, comprehend, and execute directions from mechanical drawings.
• Able to measure dimensions with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers to verify conformance.

Responsibilities

• Sets-up and operates precision grinding equipment within machine capacity and capability.
• Selects tooling and fixtures for the grinding operation.
• Inspects parts for quality and tolerance using measuring tools.
• Determines proper feed and speed for grinding operations.
• Records piece count and run time of production cycles.
• Recognizes improper machine functioning and makes adjustments when possible.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and overlays; uses SPC and shop floor data collection systems.
