Qualifications

• Able to read, comprehend, and execute directions from mechanical drawings.
• Able to measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate precision grinding equipment to perform operations within machine capacity and capability.
• Knowledge of grinding TD, angle head and button head parts and head protrusion gauging.
• Hand feeding using a head stop for profile grinding.
• Set up and troubleshoot loading system for auto grinders.
• Select tooling and fixtures pertaining to the grinding operation.
• Inspect parts for quality and tolerance using micrometers, calipers, gauge blocks, and comparators.
• Determine proper feed and speed combination.
• Record the piece count and run time of the production times.
• Recognize improper machine functioning and make adjustments.
• Read and interpret blueprints and overlays.
• Use SPC and shop floor data collection systems.
