Job summary

Teradyne's Memory Test division seeks a Calibration and Diagnostics Engineer to develop software for automated test equipment. You will design C++ libraries, work with hardware teams to calibrate instruments, and analyze data to improve system performance.

This role emphasizes automation, diagnostics, and reliable software for precision instrumentation. Requires strong C++ skills, electronics fundamentals, and experience translating hardware interfaces into software abstractions.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science with 3+ years experience or MS with 0-2 years experience.
  • Knowledge of electronics fundamentals and digital circuit operation.
  • Strong C++ Programming skills and OO design experience.
  • Ability to read hardware schematics and block diagrams.
  • Experience translating hardware registers and interfaces into software abstractions.
  • Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, and logic analyzers.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance calibration, characterization, and diagnostic software solutions for ATE platforms.
  • Design and implement software libraries and applications in C++ supporting precision instrumentation and measurement systems.
  • Work closely with hardware engineers to validate new designs and develop calibration methodologies.
  • Analyze measurement data to characterize system performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support new product introduction activities and transition engineering releases into manufacturing.
  • Investigate and resolve hardware and software issues discovered during development, manufacturing, or customer deployment.
  • Develop automation tools, validation frameworks, and test infrastructure.
  • Participate in technical reviews, code reviews, and root-cause investigations.
  • Document algorithms, software designs, and validation results.
