Job summary

ManpowerGroup in Waco, TX is seeking a Bandsaw Operator for the 2nd shift to join our manufacturing team. You will set up and operate bandsaws to cut raw metals to precise specifications while interpreting drawings and cut lists.

This role requires 1–3 years of experience in industrial sawing, ability to read a tape measure to 1/16 inch, lifting up to 50 pounds, and familiarity with hoists, cranes, and forklifts. Safety and quality are top priorities.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience operating industrial sawing machinery in a manufacturing or heavy fabrication environment.
• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16" and work accurately with fractions and decimals.
• Physical ability to lift and maneuver materials weighing up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in a heavy industrial setting.
• Knowledge of operating overhead hoists, jib cranes, and forklifts for loading and unloading raw materials.
• Strong attention to detail, safety-conscious mindset, and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate horizontal or vertical bandsaws to cut raw metals, steel bars, and components to precise specifications.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and cut lists to determine exact dimensions and cutting sequences.
• Inspect raw materials and finished parts for quality control, ensuring cuts match blueprints and surface standards.
• Select appropriate saw blades based on material type and perform routine machine maintenance, including blade changes and lubrication.
• Adhere strictly to OSHA safety guidelines, utilizing PPE, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
