Job summary

Piper Companies seeks an Assembly Inspector to join a growing manufacturing team supporting the assembly of mechanical and electromechanical products. The Quality Inspector will act as a critical checkpoint throughout production to ensure assemblies meet engineering specs and workmanship standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience performing quality inspections in manufacturing, production, or assembly.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, torque devices).
• Knowledge of GD&T and ability to read engineering drawings and specs.
• Experience identifying defects, documenting nonconformances, and supporting corrective actions.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of mechanical and electromechanical assemblies across production stages.
• Verify torque values, dimensions, and assembly requirements with precision tools.
• Apply GD&T to evaluate conformance to drawings and standards.
• Ensure proper labeling, serialization, traceability, and workmanship before release.
• Document inspection results and nonconformances accurately.
• Escalate defects and quality concerns to technicians and leadership.
• Maintain calibration status of measurement equipment and support verification activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Prevent progression of assemblies that do not pass inspections.
