Job summary

Sharps Medical Waste Services is hiring for an Assembler to join our production team at our Houston facility. You will assemble, inspect, and package corrugated and plastic products, ensuring accuracy to specifications and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

The role requires reading assembly instructions, performing repetitive tasks with attention to detail, and lifting up to 50 pounds as needed. This position offers a stable manufacturing role within a growing medical waste services

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and follow assembly instructions, work packets, and product specifications.
• Ability to complete repetitive assembly and packaging tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical work, including bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, stuff, tape, and prepare corrugated and plastic products according to specifications.
• Read and follow assembly instructions, product kits, and production documentation.
• Conduct quality checks on completed products and inspect team members’ work as needed.
• Lift, palletize, and prepare completed products for storage or shipment.
• Safely operate pallet jacks to move materials, products, and completed pallets.
• Use stretch wrap to secure pallets and approved tools to open boxes or cut plastic wrap and straps.
• Assist with hand-unloading trucks and stacking incoming materials onto pallets as needed.
• Handle products and materials weighing approximately 17–25 pounds.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper disposal of production waste.
• Follow all production, quality, and safety procedures; report defects, shortages, or other concerns to a supervisor.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
