Job summary

Benchmark Concord, CA site is seeking an assembler to install and remove mechanical and electrical components in assemblies per work instructions. You’ll work with a team to produce high-quality products, use a variety of tools, read blueprints, and maintain a clean, safe work area.

This safety-sensitive role requires endurance, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. A High School diploma or GED is required; 3–10 years of hands-on experience is preferred.

  • 3-10 years working with all processes or a specialized knowledge in one or more processes.

Responsibilities

  • Uses hand tools and fixtures to assemble components, in a team environment to produce high-quality products.
  • Performs validation and inspection of own work and within the immediate work area.
  • Maintains a neat, organized work area and ensures supplies are stocked.
  • Maintains tools and equipment in proper working order.
  • Keeps customer product documentation secure and confidential.
  • May participate in product testing and provide feedback to upstream and downstream operations.

Summary

Install and remove mechanical and electrical components in assemblies and sub-assemblies per work instructions and/or visual aids. May troubleshoot failed assemblies to determine corrective action.

Responsibilities
  • Uses hand tools and custom fixtures, working in a team environment with other assemblers and support functions to produce products on time and with high level of quality.
  • Performs validation and inspection of own work and within immediate work area
  • Maintains adequate supplies and a neat and orderly work area
  • Maintains tools and equipment in proper working order
  • Maintains the security and confidentiality of customer products and documentation
  • May become involved with product testing
  • Participates in providing timely feedback to upstream and downstream operations as appropriate
  • Proactively participates in site Lean engagement and activities.
  • Provides feedback on ways to reduce scrap created within the process by recommending corrective action to reduce or eliminating root cause.
  • Adheres to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
  • Complies and follows all company security policies and procedures. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Able to perform all the essential functions and competencies listed above.
  • Cross-trained in all assigned operations and/or is a specialist or SME in at least one involved process.
  • Able to use a wide variety of tooling
  • Works with moderately complex processes and challenging customer expectations
  • Able to use independent judgment with minimum oversight by supervision
  • Works with complex product testing
  • Serves as a mentor to lesser skilled employees
  • Able to handle multiple and changing priorities

Compensation Range: $23.51 to $35.26 USD. Many factors are considered in compensation decisions, including but not limited to skills, certifications, licensures, experience, training, incumbent data, and other business needs.
