Responsibilities

  • Assembles, disassembles, or performs process steps on complex products that may include bench or in-line testing, soldering, epoxy etc.
  • Achieves quality and productivity according to established standards
  • Routes finished products to their designated location
  • Processes accurate inventory transactions, perform routine inventory cycle counts
  • Maintain “5S” standards for their work area
  • Actively Participate in Continuous Improvement activities by proposing quality or productivity improvements
  • Participates in the development and implementation of new or revised work instructions
  • Participates in the development of new products by working on manufacturing prototypes utilizing draft documentation.
  • Performs change order directed updates to assemblies or processes with limited supervision
  • Assists in the training of new or transferred personnel

Overview

Job Summary

Working under general supervision, and utilizing complex tools or fixtures, including magnification, responsible to perform production operations on small, delicate, or complicated items, including membranes, as defined by visual aids, assembly drawings, and written or verbal manufacturing instructions.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

  • High School degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 0-2 years applicable experience in a manufacturing using a microscope or equivalent environment preferred. Equivalent is understood as having performed similar tasks, utilized similar tools and equipment, and worked towards defined quality and productivity standards. Other industry experience and transferable skills/experience may be considered.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. Must be able to detect, identify and inspect scientific data. The employee will be required to stand and/or walk up to 8 hours per day and/or sit for up to 8 hours per day. Must be able to use hands to feel objects, including keyboard, telephone and pipettes or other lab equipment. May need to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel or crouch. Will be required to talk and hear and have specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. May occasionally have to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment will vary but is usually moderate. This position is very active and requires varying levels of mobility.
