Job summary

Gooch & Housego (G&H) is seeking an experienced Industrial Painting Technician for aerospace and defense components. You will prepare, coat, and inspect precision parts, following stringent quality and regulatory specifications.

Work with various coatings, substrates, and specialized equipment in a regulated manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include surface preparation, mixing coatings, applying finishes, and ensuring finished parts meet engineering and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in industrial liquid coating or aerospace painting.
• Experience with surface preparation and spray coating equipment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare components through masking, media blasting, sanding, cleaning, and degreasing.
• Apply primers, paints, and coatings to metals and composites.
• Follow MIL-SPEC, ASTM, and customer specs.
• Accurately mix epoxies, polyurethanes, resins, and other coatings.
• Control mix ratios, viscosity, induction time, and pot life.
• Operate spray equipment to achieve required finish and thickness.
• Read drawings and inspect coatings for thickness and defects.
• Maintain records and follow safety/6S and quality processes.
